The Ant and the Grasshopper / Booktown

The ‘Visoko C’ association of artists will perform the children’s opera ‘The Ant and the Grasshopper’ on the stage for children’s programmes in amphitheatre of SPENS on 18 September, as part of the Kaleidoscope of Culture.

Aesop’s fable ‘The Ant and the Grasshopper’ found its place in children’s literature as one of the most beloved stories. We are presented with a simple lesson of this story, and that is: ‘He who works, he earns’ or ‘He who works is not afraid of hunger’.

The project is designed for children to participate interactively all the time, so that in one part of the play they are sided with the grasshopper, and in the other part, with the ant. Whether it is better to play or work, or work while playing and singing, is a challenge to make children think about what is the right thing.

In addition to grasshopper and ant, a forest fairy appears in the role of narrator, who communicates with children, sings and recites the story. The opera is designed for children up to 11 years of age.
