The Bohemians from Montparnasse / Sava Šumanović and European Realism Between the Two World Wars

The theatre play ‘Bohemians from Montparnasse’, performed by the Youth Theatre ‘Mousetrap’ from Novi Sad, will take place in the Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection on 15 October in two sessions, at 4 p.m.and 7 p.m., as an accompanying programme of the ‘Sava Šumanović and the European Realism Between the Two World Wars’ exhibition.

The Memorial Collection implemented the museum performance ‘Bohemians from Montparnasse’ in cooperation with the Youth Theatre ‘Mousetrap’ as part of the Youth Museum project. The collage of scenes from Šumanović’s life during his stay in Paris in the 1920s brings a novelty in the interpretation of national and European cultural heritage, in which art and creators approach the audience through an interesting, interactive dramatic form.

The ‘Bohemians from Montparnasse’ play evokes specific situations from Sava Šumanović’s life in Paris: his acquaintance with the famous artists of the Paris School (Kisling, Fujita, Derain, Per Krohg) and the models who posed for them, such as the famous Kiki.
