The City in KUDs

‘The City in KUDs’ programme is a part of the ‘KUD Night, migrations through tradition’ project, which will be realized within the Migrations programme arch. 

For one night only, on Sunday, 6 February, KUDs will open their doors in Novi Sad and its surrounding area and make rehearsals of their sections public in order to affirm traditional creativity and artistic amateurism. 

The idea of the project is to promote intercultural dialogue in a way that has broad appeal, ultimately showing how difference is our advantage, our strength, and not a factor to divide and distance us. 

‘Sonja Marinković’, one of the famous Association for Culture and Arts (KUD) in Novi sad, will gather many KUDs from Novi Sad and its surrounding area to give us an opportunity to all walk through the heritage together and observe the migrations through the traditional folk dance and musical expressions of different peoples who inhabit this area. 

For one night, ‘KUD Night, migrations through tradition’ is a manifestation that will open the doors of the most significant KUDs and the like from Novi Sad, with the goal to affirm traditional creativity and artistic amateurism, by promoting intercultural dialogue – through an authentic journey through epochs and history of folk tradition and other forms of amateur creativity.
