The Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, Irena Josifoska and Aleksandra Šuklar, maestro Eyub Quliyev / The Best of Novi Sad

The Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra will hold three concerts entitled ‘The Best of Novi Sad’ within the programme arch Migrations, thus showing that our city is rich in successful and promising music artists.

Art and a wish for further improvement led them to the ‘world’, but they always come back to the scene of their city with joy, presenting the acquired knowledge and experience to the Novi Sad audience.

The Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra will perform with two young artists, who have been presenting their art quality on the international music scene for years, in the Novi Sad Synagogue, on 2 February 2022 at 8 p.m. The concert stresses the importance of a positive view on migrations and perceives them as something unique in Novi Sad and as an initial factor for the formation and transformation of the city’s identity.

We invest in and nurture local artists, promote our culture and its best offer by presenting Aleksandra Šuklar (percussionist and marimbophonist) and Irena Josifoska (violoncellist), both born in Novi Sad, and residents of Austria and Germany. The Concert for violin and symphony orchestra by Tristan Szulc, who dedicated this work to Aleksandra Šuklar as his first interpreter, will premiere in Serbia, while Irena Josifoska will hold the Second concert for violoncello and orchestra by Dmitri Shostakovich. The whole programme will be performed under the baton of maestro Eyub Quliyev.

Another two concerts will be held in the Serbian National Theatre on 10 February and in the City Concert Hall on 15 February.
