The Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, Stefan Milenković and Kemal Gekić, maestro Srboljub Dinić / The Best of Novi Sad

The Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra will hold three concerts entitled ‘The Best of Novi Sad’ within the programme arch Migrations, thus showing that our city is rich in successful and promising music artists.

Art and a wish for further improvement led them to the ‘world’, but they always come back to the scene of their city with joy, presenting the acquired knowledge and experience to the Novi Sad audience.

The Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra will hold the second concert on the ‘Jovan Đorđević’ scene of the Serbian National Theatre on Thursday, 10 February 2022. With the aim to promote the best composers to our city whose life and work brought them to Novi Sad and on this occasion, Kemal Gekić, one of the most distinguished pianists of his generation, who studied and worked at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, will perform. His interpretations are adorned by unique performances, often provocative and intriguing, bold and convincing, which we will have a chance to hear in the interpretation of the Concert for piano and orchestra no. 2 by Johannes Brahms.

Another artist with an impressive biography, who is transferring the knowledge to young violinists of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad after years spent abroad will enhance the music night with his performance. Stefan Milenković, a great violin virtuoso, will hold the Concert for violin and orchestra no. 2 by Max Bruch. This will be his second performance with the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, and fourth for maestro Srboljub Dinić, who will be conducting at the concert. The repertoire will also include Sinfonietta, a work by the famous Novi Sad composer Stevan Divjaković, as well as the Classical Symphony (Symphony no.1) by Sergei Prokofiev.

The third concert by the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, within the project ‘The Best of Novi Sad’ will be held in the Synagogue on 17 February.
