Guided Tour of the Exhibition / Feminist Avant-Garde
A guided tour of the exhibition ‘Feminist Avant-Garde’ by curator Ana Simona Zelenović from Belgrade will be held on 18 June at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina.
Retracing the bold steps of avant-garde art of the 1970s, which influenced radical changes in the way women are represented in art, the collaborative exhibition ‘Feminist Avant-Garde’, the international group exhibition of the ‘Sammlung Verbund’ collection from Vienna and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina will feature the works of 78 artists from all around the world, with a special focus on the local scene that spawned artistic individuals whose influence was far-reaching.
The exhibition primarily deals with the analysis of women’s personal identity in contemporary art practice and society, explores the processes of performativity, demateriality and transgression, as well as the idea of breaking through formal, media and spatial boundaries.
Erste Bank is the partner of the Heroines programme arch.
