Chaplin / Novi Sad Theatre Festival
The puppet show ‘Chaplin’ will be performed at the end of the ‘Novi Sad Theatre Festival’, at the Youth Theatre on 14 May.
In the street, between the stage and the auditorium, a violinist in a tailcoat is preparing a music stand. The stand falls, the sheet music falls to the ground. When everything is ready, (the violin under the door and the bow in the right hand) the concert for the puppet theatre can begin. The story of Chaplin. Chaplin as a series of short puppet grotesques based on Chaplin’s silent grotesques from the beginning of his film career. Chaplin as a celebration of life, youth, joy, wit, ingenuity, creativity and freedom.
