Darko Cvijetić / Migration of Souls — Novi Sad through Literature
Famous writer, poet, director and playwright, Darko Cvijetić is coming to the contemporary pavilion of literature ‘Migration of Souls – Novi Sad through Literature’ in the Master Hall of the Novi Sad Fair on 9 March at 6 p.m. After the official programme, the author will sign his books at the Zenit publishing house booth.
Darko Cvijetić was born in Ljubija near Prijedor. He writes songs and short stories, and is a director and playwright at the Prijedor Theatre. His poems have been translated into several languages: French, English, German, Slovenian, Hebrew, Albanian, Hungarian, Polish, Macedonian and Yiddish. He is a member of P.E.N. Centre of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Association of Writers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Croatian Writers’ Association, and is a corresponding member of the International Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IANUBIH). The difficult legacy of the war is Cvijetić’s obsessive theme, which runs through almost his entire work. He is the author of a dozen books of poetry and prose. His most famous works are Šindlerov lift, Mali ekshumatorski eseji, Noćni Gorbačov, Što na podu spavaš.
The exhibition Migration of Souls – Novi Sad through Literature’ celebrates the book as a civilizational and cultural object through strong visual narratives and interventions. During the exhibition ‘Migration of Souls — Novi Sad through Literature’ in the Master Hall of the Novi Sad Fair, we will host contemporary regional writers such as Rumena Bužarovska, Milica Vučković, Damir Karakaš, Miljenko Jergović and Kristian Novak.
