La Caravane Passe
The concert by the French band La Caravane Passe will take place in the garden of the Ilion Castle in Sremski Karlovci on 13 August as part of The Danube Sea programme arch.
Members of the La Caravane Passe (’caravan passes’) always perceive things from the passenger’s point of view. For almost twenty years, Toma Feterman has been leading his band, and all of us are following in their footsteps, on a double journey through the musical landscapes of Eastern and Southern Europe and extended tours, stopping wherever spectators dream of going. La Caravane Passe toured for four years during which the band drew a lot of inspiration from what they heard during new stopovers – Turkey, Lebanon, Korea, New Caledonia, Japan, Egypt, etc. looking for music.
It is also an ‘invitation to a party, while we are aware of the chaos that surrounds us’ – halfway between Nietzsche and the village musician. Speaking from a traveller’s point of view is speaking from a migrant’s point of view, without great speech, without moralism, but with a furious desire to dance.
La Caravane Passe, singing in French, English, Spanish, Catalan and several other languages, has been filling concert halls for several years and touring friendly festivals, famous countries and new countries.
The concert will be held as part of the Danube Culture Festival.
This one-day music festival aims to show the local audience part of the spectrum of musical diversity offered by bands and musicians from Europe and the region, especially those that are united by the Danube, and nature in general, which is manifested in their colourful music and the cheerfulness they spread at their performances.
This time, the emphasis is on the original music that, with its mix of genres, fun character, and virtuoso performances, breaks all the boundaries and manages to make these seemingly local heroes into world-renowned artists.
