Memories – Bogdan Ranković & Ethnoforia
The concert ‘Memories’ of Bogdan Ranković & Ethnoforia will be held on the ‘Pera Dobrinović’ stage at the Serbian National Theatre on 21 May.
As the accordion is an important part of traditional Serbian music, in the title year we will remember one of the most important artists on the accordion – Radojka Živković, who, with her exceptional musical talent, promoted Serbian traditional music around the world and produced some of the most beautiful folk songs of the last century. With the performance of the Novi Sad ensemble Ethnoforia and friends under the direction of Bogdan Ranković, the audience will get to hear a premiere of compositions dedicated to the memory of Radojka Živković, which will mark the 20th anniversary of her death.
Tickets can be purchased at the box office of the Serbian National Theatre at a price of RSD 600. Regular theatre discounts apply to students and retirees.
The concert will be performed as part of the Festival of Accordion and Chamber Music ‘Eufonija’, which will be held from 18 to 21 May 2022, within the Heroines programme arch. As the accordion is still perceived as a male instrument, the programme, which highlights women artists, accordionists, composers, and organisers, seeks to support and empower all those young female accordion artists who struggle against imposed stereotypes in their education and artistic work. It is dedicated to the promotion of women in art who, with their energy and commitment, created the history of the accordion in the music of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Erste Bank is the partner of the Heroines programme arch.
