Monika Werkstatt

Monika Werkstatt

The Performances and workshops of the “godmother” of the Berlin scene and pioneer of progressive electronic sound, Gudrun Gut, as part of ‘Monika Werkstatt’, project will be held in the passage at the bookstore Bulevar Books on 7 June at 9 p.m., within the Heroines programme arch. The collective motto of the project reads ‘Live and Work / Dream and Make an Impact’, and it consists of producers and electronic artists from the label ‘Monika Enterprise’.

Gudrun Gut highly ranks in the history and the present time of avant-garde sound in Berlin. She is the founder of the iconic ‘Einstürzende Neubauten’ band, as well as ‘Mania D’ and ‘Malaria!’. In addition to the audio engineering programming, music production and publishing in Moabit Musik and Monika Enterprise labels, Gudrun has eventually become renowned for her educational, feminist and activist work. Her latest electronic release is her participation in music for a film about Berlin’s nightlife.

The participants of the workshop are now world-famous electronic artists and producers: Danielle De Picciotto (Desert Music, Nomad), Islaja (Eclectic Pop From Finland, Berlin), Barbara Morgenstern (Queen Of Harmonies, Berlin), Pilocka Krach ( Belladonna Dance, Berlin), Natalie Beridze (Magic Music, Tiflis, Georgia), Agf ( With G. Gut As Greie Gut Fraktion, Finland), Sonae (Ambient Artist, Cologne), Lucrecia Dalt(Atomar Music, Berlin), Beate Bartel (Heroine Of Noise, Berlin) and, of course, Gudrun Gut (Underground Pop, Berlin).
