Turbojazz / Flags of the Future

Turbojazz will perform together with other Nu Jazz ensembles and DJs, who will present the innovative genre to the Novi Sad audience, within the Flags of the Future programme unit on Stage 4, in Creative District on 29 April. It is a connection of music genres (hip-hop, acid jazz, jazztronica, deep house and broken beat) which together make Nu Jazz. Non-standardisation of movements, absence of rules, intuitive movements characterise this innovative music genre.

Tommaso Garofalo, known as Turbojazz, born in Verona and raised in Milano, began DJing and producing music in the early 2000s, drawing great inspiration from hip-hop and black music culture: from jazz dance to rare funk disco and all soulful and similar genres.

This journey through waves of brilliant black sounds and art led to the birth of ‘Unbreakable EP’, a 12″ debut on Local Talk that includes ‘Please U’ featuring David Blank with a remix of EVM128 and the acclaimed ‘Unicorn Rising’, welcomed by Laurent Garnier, DJ Deep, Luke Solomon, Tony Humphries, LeFtO, Volcov, Ashley Beedle, Lay-Far and many others.
He was one of the 16 participants at the prestigious Red Bull Academy Bass Camp in Rome, which allowed him to work with some of the most interesting artists on the Italian music scene.

In addition to them, during the second day of the festival, the audience will be introduced to the band Abase led by Szabolcs Bognár – Hungarian producer and multi-instrumentalist, and Frontline Vibers led by Zsolt Argyelán.

The ‘Flags of the Future’ programme is sponsored by: IDEA, DDOR, and A1 Srbija.
