A Shawl as a Multi-Purpose Clothing Piece / A Shawl as a Cultural Signifier
Workshops ‘A Shawl as a Multi-Purpose Clothing Piece’ within the ‘A Shawl as a Cultural Signifier’ project of the ‘Heroines’ programme arch will be held in the Svilara Cultural Station on 23 and 24 May.
During the two-day workshop, participants will learn about techniques of dyeing and printing on textiles (shawls) that could be used in many different ways. Shawls, with the help of designers and constructors, will have a multifunctional purpose and could be used as different clothing pieces: top/upper clothing pieces of different shapes, kimono/coat and classic scarf.
During the first day, participants will be making sketches and colouring shawls, while the following day is planned for printing shawls and finalising the clothing piece.
Mentors: Tijana Popović Pješčić, Mila Popović and Dragana Dubljević
The number of seats is limited to 5-10.
Each participant will get a shawl they formed as an authentic clothing piece for free.
Erste Bank is the partner of the Heroines programme arch.
