Flags of the Future / 28 April
The ‘Flags of the Future’ programme will begin with exhibitions, lectures, performances, and workshops, and it will end in the evening with a unique jazz marathon of European Capitals of Culture, in the Creative District on 28 April.
The opening of the exhibition ‘Leave or Stay?’ is scheduled for 7 p.m. on the Suba’s Plateau, after which the opening ceremony of the ‘Flags of the Future’ programme unit, organised by the ‘Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture’ Foundation, will be held in front of SCCNS Fabrika.
Within the ‘Art in the Palm of Your Hand’, we will attend the opening of the exhibition ‘Differences’ at 7.30 p.m. at the venue 1 – Route 66, the venue 2 and Biro, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., we will be able to follow the opening of the First applied theatre festival.
At the venue Radionica, we will have the opportunity to see the exhibition ‘Drawings Travel Through Time’ from 7 p.m.
In the Liman Cultural Station, influencers Aleksa Todorović and Dejan Pavlović will lead the workshop ‘Me as a Digital Editor’ in the role of lecturers, from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The goal of the workshop is to bring children and parents closer to the theme of digital literacy and security in the digital environment. A roundtable discussion on hip-hop culture will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., organised by the Groovin’ Association.
In the Skladište venue, a performance will be presented within the international project ‘They Live – Student Lives Revealed Through Context-Based Art Practices’ – Student-vocal manifestation ‘SVI u akciji!’, from 8 p.m.
From 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., the Creative District will be the space for the audience from Novi Sad to be introduced to six young jazz ensembles from past, present and future European Capitals of Culture, as well as other performers. This concert evening will show the wider audience new tendencies and directions in jazz music in Europe.

8 p.m. drumbooty representing Novi Sad 2022.

11 p.m. Kijube representing Veszprém – Balaton 2023.
Performances of nu jazz ensembles and DJs, who will present this innovative direction to the Novi Sad audience, are scheduled for the second day of the ‘Flags of the Future’ programme, in the Creative District on 29 April.
On the third day of the festival, Saturday, 30 April, in Novi Sad, more than 30 young musicians from all over Europe, the region, and Serbia will present themselves for the first time, through various music genres, environmental seminars, art workshops, circus performances, and street dance festival.
