Musical Heroine / Heroines at the Zenith

The concert of the Ana Ćurčin Trio will be held on 12 June at Zenit Books within the ‘Heroines at the Zenith’ festival, which is part of the Heroines programme arch.

The concert of the famous singer-songwriter who, through her own music and poetry, gives a personal, authorial stamp of women’s creativity and connects various artistic branches will perform at the end of the festival, as part of the trio – Ana Ćurčin (vocals and guitar), Milena Jančurić (flute) and Ana Protulipac (bass guitar and backing vocals) premiering several new Ana’s songs, but also presenting a subtle mixture of famous hits in new arrangements.

Ana Ćurčin is a singer-songwriter from Belgrade who has been performing solo or with a band since December 2012. Her music is gentle and powerful, quiet and melodic, noisy and rhythmic, uniting rock and folk, pop and soul. Ana is constantly searching for the perfect song, the ideal chord, and the right feeling. The audience could hear Ana’s music live in Serbia, the region, and throughout Europe. She has released two studio albums – ‘Sketches of Belonging’ (2016) and ‘Differences’ (2019, second one as Ana & The Changes), an album of applied music ‘Scene’ (2020), as well as a collection of demos ‘Sketches of Belonging (solo& acoustic)’ (2015) and live songs ‘Differences Live’ (2020). At the end of this year, she will release her first album in Serbian which was announced with the song ‘Tu’, the first that Ana wrote and sang in her native tongue. ‘Tu’ was awarded the best song of 2021 by the Milan Mladenović Endowment expert jury.

Milena Jančurić is a flautist from Novi Sad who studied at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her professional biography and the list of musicians she has collaborated with are impressive, and Ana and Milena have been composing and playing together for several years now. Last year, Milena released her debut album ‘Shapes and Stories’ for the prestigious Italian label A.MA Records.

After graduating from the Stanković Music School, where she attended the music theory department and jazz singing, Ana Protulipac is finishing her undergraduate and master’s studies in psychology. She continues her music career as a bassist and vocalist in several bands such as IrieFM, Beyonce Tribute Band, Katarina Pejak Trio, Poinciana Feels, etc. She has performed at numerous regional festivals and is currently working on her first album.
