Nine Women from Vojvodina / ARS E FEMMINA

Within the multimedia-based project ‘ARS E FEMMINA’ organised as part of the Heroines programme arch, the first programme whole ‘Nine Women from Vojvodina’ will take place on 19 and 20 May in the Egység Cultural Station.

‘Nine Women from Vojvodina’ (Serbian, Hungarian, Russian, Roma, Croatian, Jewish, Romanian, German and Slovak) reflects the diversity of this area by having the artists members of the majority of the Vojvodina and Novi Sad population. The women artists connect through all fields of art and collaborate on the events in the gallery and concert space. Harmony, tolerance, multiculturalism, multiethnicity, mutual respect, appreciation and the culture of peace are the connection and send positive messages to new generations, opening the opportunity for similar events and cooperation.

Authors: Jelena Simonović – Kovačević, Agota Vitkai – Kučera
Participants: Irina Hardi Kovačević, Aleksandra Aleksandrović, Ana Frlin, Gabriela Hajzler, Otilia Peskariu, Sanja Zivo and Isidora Vlček.

After this segment, we will have the opportunity to enjoy two further wholes: ‘Letters to a Far Beloved’ on 22 May in the Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection and ‘Journalists ask the Heroines’ on 7 June at the Serbian National Theatre.

The ARS E FEMMINA project is a mixture of several different types of artistic expression – musical, visual, theatrical, literary and multimedia. It presents Novi Sad as a symbol of multiethnicity, tolerance, understanding, education and culture, subtly reminding us of how noble and significant the role of a woman artist is, while at the same time bringing the Novi Sad citizens back to their precious heritage by its innovative and creative approach to portraying historical figures and our contemporaries.

The authors of the project are Jelena Simonović Kovačević and Agota Vitkai Kučera.
