Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra

The concert of the Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra will be held in the Ilion Castle in Sremski Karlovci on 13 August as part of The Danube Sea programme arch.

Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra plays ska with a touch of Hungarian and Balkan sound, reggae and jazz. Since 2003, with over 1,000 performances in 22 countries, from Spain to Ukraine, the band has shown its incredible energy.

The band was formed in 2003, when it started playing in Budapest bars. As the years passed, the band shaped form and style and eventually became the leading ska revival, both in Hungary and in other European countries.

In 2005, they signed a contract with Megalith Records, the leading American ska house. Their first album ‘Budapest Ska Mood’ was released the same year. This album was accompanied by ‘Babylon Focus’ EP and ‘Biblical 7’ single vinyl in 2007. In the same year, their second album ‘The return of the Pannonians’ was released, followed by ‘Feel the Riddim’ in 2009, and the double album ‘Lovemonster’ in 2012. ‘Lovemonster’ followed ‘Best of Vinyl’ LP in 2014 and ‘Ghost Train’ CD and vinyl LP in 2016 and 2017.

PASO also likes to experience and break musical boundaries. The band was joined several times by the Symphony Orchestra of the Hungarian National Radio, and in 2012 they played an all-night concert with them in the world-famous Budapest Palace of Arts. All symphonic arrangements were made by PASO members.

The concert will be held as part of the Danube Culture Festival.

This one-day music festival aims to show the local audience part of the spectrum of musical diversity offered by bands and musicians from Europe and the region, especially those that are united by the Danube, and nature in general, which is manifested in their colourful music and the cheerfulness they spread at their performances.

This time, the emphasis is on the original music that, with its mix of genres, fun character, and virtuoso performances, breaks all the boundaries and manages to make these seemingly local heroes into world-renowned artists.
