When We Dust Off The Partisan and Fragonard / The Patrisan and Fragonard. Collection of Jovanka Broz

The conservation story ‘When We Dust Off The Partisan and Fragonard‘ will be held in the Gallery of Matica Srpska on 10 June, as an accompanying programme to the ‘Partisan and Fragonard. Collection of Jovanka Broz’ exhibition, which is held within the Heroines programme arch.

‘The Partisan and Fragonard. Collection of Jovanka Broz’ exhibition was preceded by long and demanding conservation and restoration processes, thanks to which this small imaginary and emotional museum of Jovanka’s memories saw the light of day and brought a breath of the past and part of the atmosphere from the house where the first the lady of SFR Yugoslavia spent her life after the death of her husband Josip Broz.

The Gallery of Matica Srpska opens its doors to all visitors who wish to hear the story of complex conservation and restoration treatments that all 36 works of fine art by local and foreign authors have gone through, as well as some personal items and pieces of furniture.
Nataša Skrinjik Cvetković, MA, senior conservator of the Museum of Yugoslavia and Marijeta Sidovski, MSc, senior conservator of the Gallery of Matica Srpska, who led complex conservation and restoration works, on this unique occasion, will present to visitors all the challenges that conservators face during the works, through rich photo material of the primal state.
