E-play / Vila
The concert of the alternative band from Belgrade, E-play, will be held on 5 June in Vrdnik, as part of the ‘Vila’ family festival.
E-play was founded in 1998. It is characterised by distorted bass, drum & bass rhythms and the sound of a gentle, atmospheric guitar.
The band E-play has five studio albums behind them, a large list of solo and festival performances (from the Main stage at the Exit Festival, and the Paris ‘Music Day’ concert, to the Bologna ‘Belgrade Day’ concert), and it participated in several compilations (‘Dudes’ movie soundtrack, a compilation dedicated to Milan Mladenović, etc.). The music of this band can be heard in the movies: ‘Dudes’, ‘Chasing Luck(Y)’, and ‘Zduhač Means Adventure’.
At the end of 2013, E-play released the album ‘Obični ljudi’, from which the hits ‘Divan dan’, ‘Hiljadu ljudi’ and ‘Ljubica’ immediately stood out. Over the past years, the song ‘Divan dan’ reached the top on many domestic charts, and at the same time won the Megaphone Award for best single of the year. Although it has over 4 million views on YouTube, ‘Divan dan’ is one of the most popular songs when it comes to the concert performances of this band.
In April 2018, this band released the album ‘Sloboda’, and received a lot of positive reviews from both the media and the audience. On all the annual lists of the best albums from 2018, ‘Sloboda’ is in the top 5. The second single from the album ‘Sloboda’ titled ‘Srešćemo se neki drugi put’, won the Megaphone Award for the single of the year again. Radio 202 awarded that same song second place for the best single of 2018.
Despite the pandemic circumstances, the band remained very active. Belgrade’s E-play was chosen to represent Serbia at one of the largest and most influential European music festivals ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag). In addition, the band released the first live video in their career for the song ‘Srešćemo se neki drugi put’, released their album ‘Sloboda’ on vinyl, and released the music video ‘Sloboda’ with the actress Sloboda Mićalović. In 2021, the band won the award for the best song and video of the year for the song ‘Sloboda’.
